The Senate Commerce Committee will vote on August 2 on the nominations of Steven Bradbury to be General Counsel at the Department of Transportation and Robert L. Sumwalt III to be Chairman of the National Transportation Safety Board.
At his confirmation hearing in late June before the Commerce Committee, Bradbury was asked about his criteria for evaluating potential regulations at DOT. He replied that safety is the number one priority.
Sumwalt joined the NTSB in 2006 under President George W. Bush and is currently serving as Acting Chairman.
It is also possible that the Senate could approve the nomination of David Pekoske to serve as TSA Administrator.
