The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Thursday held a 225-day progress report hearing on the Recovery Act.

Of the $1.1 billion provided for AIP, FAA has awarded grants for 305 projects worth $1 billion in all 50 States and four Territories, representing 93 percent of the total apportionment.

Rep. Jim Oberstar (D-Minn.) called the temporary AMT provision in the Recovery Act, a "lifeline for airports" and directed DOT to examine how the AMT provision could be used to benefit surface transportation.

AAAE is continuing to urge lawmakers to implement a permanent fix to AMT penalties on bonds.
