Freshman Lawmaker to Lead TSA Oversight Subcommittee

top story photo Freshman Republican Richard Hudson (R-N.C.), a former congressional staffer elected to his first term in November, has been named chairman of the important House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security, which has oversight responsibilities for TSA.

The announcement of Hudson's appointment and other subcommittee chairs was made this afternoon by House Homeland Security Chairman Mike McCaul (R-Texas), who assumed the post of full committee chairman with the convening of the 113th Congress on Thursday. McCaul replaced Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), who was forced from the post because of term-limits within the Republican conference.

Other appointments to key congressional committees and subcommittee's are anticipated over the next few weeks, and AAAE Airport Legislative Alliance staff will provide additional information on these new leaders as those announcements are made.
