The Senate by unanimous consent confirmed Michael Huerta as FAA administrator. Huerta has been serving as acting administrator since December 2011.
The Senate Commerce Committee approved Huerta in July 2012. However, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.), who is leaving the Senate to head the Heritage Foundation, put a hold on the Obama nominee.
The FAA administrator has a five-year term, and DeMint didn't want the Senate to act until the outcome of the presidential election was determined.
