Cuba Flights Out of Atlanta Begin

top story photo Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has added Havana, Cuba, to its list of international destinations, airport officials reported this week. The weekly chartered flight by Marazul Charters, operated by Delta, began nonstop service Dec. 7.

Hartsfield-Jackson is one of several U.S. gateways to Cuba added this year.

Although charter flights to and from Cuba now are allowed, only "purposeful" travel will be permitted, such as passengers who have close relatives in Cuba, are involved in the medical or agricultural sectors, or travel for educational and religious activities.
