Business Aviation Assists In Haitian Crisis

top story photo In response to the crisis in Haiti, the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) reported that it has received hundreds of offers of flight support and other assistance from individuals and companies in business aviation.

Estimates are that nearly 100 general aviation aircraft flew humanitarian missions from the U.S. to Port-Au-Prince, Haiti, in just the first five days after an airport opened to humanitarian flights, NBAA said. During the weekend after the airport opened, the U.S. military and FAA reported that 330 requests to land had been approved, with nearly half coming from civilian aircraft, according to NBAA.
