Int'l Airport Issues Conference Held


top story photo AAAE and the International Association of Airport Executives (IAAE), in partnership with Dubrovnik International Airport, the U.S. Department of Commerce, Lufthansa, Croatia Airlines, Split and Zagreb airports, recently hosted the 15th Annual Central Europe/North America Airport Issues Conference in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

The conference brought together more than 100 attendees who focused on a broad exchange of ideas and dialogue between aviation-related companies and aviation officials in the region.

Key aviation officials from Central Europe who participated in the conference represented Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Greece, Switzerland, Bulgaria, the U.K., Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania and the Slovak Republic. In addition, 22 U.S. Commercial Service officers from U.S. embassies throughout the region attended and conducted one-on-one sessions with interested attendees.

Keynote speakers at the conference included U.S Ambassador to Croatia James Foley; AAAE Chair John Duval, A.A.E.; Kate Lang, FAA acting assistant administrator for airports; and Paul Rodgers, TSA attache, U.S. Embassy, Warsaw, Poland

In addition to Duval, the delegation was led by IAAE Vice Chairman Tonci Peovic from Zagreb International Airport.
