TSA announced an award of $3.2 million to Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport for enhancements to optimize its baggage handling systems.
The award, which comes from fiscal 2009 funds, will provide upgrades to the existing baggage systems by adding conveyor lines and constructing new spaces to perform screening.
"The project is the latest example of BWI Marshall Airport working with TSA to improve security technology and procedures," said Timothy Campbell, A.A.E., executive director of the Maryland Aviation Administration. "The funding will help TSA to provide the highest level of security and convenience here at BWI Marshall."
