Bill Introduced To Study Transition To Biometrics In Airports

top story photo House Homeland Security Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.) Wednesday introduced legislation - H.R. 5982 - to study how airports can "transition to uniform, standards-based, and interoperable biometric identifier systems for airport workers with unescorted access to secure or sterile areas of an airport." The bill was cosponsored by Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-Texas), who chairs a key subcommittee with oversight of TSA.
